Robert Shiller gives a 45 minute speech in which he talks about his new book, Finance and the Good Society. In the book Shiller argues that rather than condemning financial industry, it would be better to reclaim it for the common good. After introducing his thesis in the book, Shiller talks about the problems facing the economy, which still linger. From the beginning of this speech, one might think Shiller leans to the right, he in-fact leans to the left (as he himself acknowledges). One of the reasons I really like listening to Shiller is because he is intellectually honest, which is rare among economists nowadays.
